Long-term solution for missing teeth

The best way to replace missing teeth is with dental implants. Our team at The Oliver Cosmetic Dental Clinic are highly skilled in placing porcelain crowns and bridges on dental implants to create a beautiful natural smile.

THE BENEFITS OF
Dental implants

Dental implants are a permanent solution for replacing or supporting missing teeth. A small titanium screw is placed into the jaw bone to replace the root of the tooth that has failed. The dental implant screw is then restored in the form of a porcelain crown or porcelain bridge. Implants are suited for people with healthy gums and who are prepared to maintain good oral hygiene.

There are many benefits of choosing dental implants, including longevity, strength and stability, comfort and appearance. In some cases it can help improve speech and allow you to eat your favourite food with confidence.

How long will they last?

Dental implants are safe however you need to remember that just like natural teeth dental implants will last for as long as you care for them. It is very important that you visit your dentist and dental hygienist for a regular check-ups and hygiene appointments in order to maintain best oral health and to maintain the longevity of the implants.

Does it hurt?

You might be surprised but placing a dental implant is much easier than taking the tooth out! The gum and the area is numbed first so you will not feel any pain or discomfort at the time of the procedure.

Do they look natural?

The dental implant screw will not be visible as it is placed inside of your jaw bone however the porcelain restoration by our expert team will be matched with your natural, adjacent teeth in order to make sure it looks exactly like them.

Can I have implants if I have a gum disease?

It depends on how advanced the gum disease is and if it is controlled and looked after by a professional dental hygienist. Your gums need to be healthy and stable before we can place a dental implant. If a gum disease is present an assessment with a dentist is required and a few dental hygiene sessions with a dental hygienist as well.

In some cases a visit with specialist periodontist is required if the gum disease turned into a periodontal disease and inflammation, deep pockets and recessions are present.

Once the gums are healthy and stable and there are no other contra indications the dental implant can be placed.
